PRACTICE AREASEnvironmental LawAs our environment has changed, the laws that govern it have evolved and developed. The significant growth of environmental law has required a specialized approach. Our environmental practice employs attorneys with highly relevant experience in dealing with the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), the New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection (DEP), the Office of the New Jersey Attorney General and the United States Department of Justice. Our firm's Environmental Department handles an extensive range of litigation related to environmental matters, including the defense of toxic exposure product liability cases for private enterprises, insurance companies and government entities. We have been involved in defending generators and haulers with respect to Superfund hazardous waste sites, as well as the management of environmental insurance claims throughout the northeast for a major insurer of petroleum storage tanks. Our firm has defended claims by state and federal authorities, as well as private parties seeking to recover costs of closing and remediating contaminated sites. As a result, our attorneys are experienced with state and federal regulatory agencies, legislation and regulations. We have also been involved in representing and advising clients in environmental matters relating to real estate and business transactions. We have diligently worked with developers and businesses in complying with the provisions of the New Jersey Industrial Site Recovery Act (ISRA), the Clean Water Act, the Clean Air Act, the Freshwater Wetlands Act, the Leaking Underground Storage Tank Act, and land use matters, in addition to developing due diligence strategies. We have also assisted financial institutions in protecting their security interests from environmental problems. Our firm's environmental law practice incorporates participation and feedback from partners and associates with extensive experience in litigation, business, banking and real estate. |
